2885 is star attraction at Moor Street Station, Birmingham - November 2003

The Group's G.W.R. Class 2884 steam locomotive 2-8-0 No. 2885, cosmetically restored at Tyseley Locomotive Works, is on open display to the public at Moor Street Station in Birmingham until August 2006.

2885 is the last of the Group's G.W.R. steam locomotives on which restoration has started and, although externally resplendent in its smart green livery, requires further work for it to return to mainline operational condition.

While the current issue of shares still shows a credit, substantial additional funds are required to complete restoration. Lottery funding is one avenue that will be explored and the Group is appealing to all members and supporters for donations to speed the return of this magnificent locomotive to working steam.

If you would like to make a donation, please call Bob Gorringe on 020 8574 1529 or email mikegorringe@hotmail.com.
