Summer seems to have passed us by, but progress on all the Group’s Locomotives moves on.
Our 0-4-0ST Pecket ‘William Murdoch’, has been the subject of Group discussions with the Helston Railway Group in Cornwall as they require a Steam loco’ to supplement their visitor interest in Heritage Railways. This locomotive should be moved down to the West Country for use next year.
0-4-0ST ‘Birkenhead’ No. 7386, is again now ready for ’steaming’, further to some remedial work and stay replacement. This loco’ maybe used as a temporary alternative for Chinnor and Princes Risboro’ Railway whilst GWR Pannier ’9682′ undergoes its major boiler work, which should be completed by the end of this year. Unforseen problems has delayed the work on this important Group Loco’….
….and sometimes other problems hamper our progress in other directions and local roadworks in the locality of Moor Street Station in Birmingham, has delayed the movement of GWR Heavy Goods Locomotive Class 2884 ’2885′ to its new owners.
